Giselle from Enchanted

I just noticed yesterday that there are costumes for Giselle, the Princess in Enchanted, the 2007 Disney movie. These are great for Halloween, but also for little girls to dress-up and play princess ... I'll be watching for other Enchanted costumes.

Avatar the Last Airbender is a cartoon that has been on Nick the last coule of years. It features a character named Aang that has control over the element of Air, hence the title Airbender. A variety of Zombies

One of the things I like to do with CartoonCostumes.com is use it to help people find things they didn't know they were looking for in the first place. For instance, you might not know that there are some pretty cool Zombie Doctor costumes for sale on eBay if all you're doing is searching for "Zombie Costume". Same thing with Prom Zombie ... Punk Zombie ... and even the movie Dawn of the Dead. These might be what you're really looking for. But sometimes, to find them, you need to know one of the tricks of using this site. If, for example Prom Zombie costumes are being sold ONLY in eBay Stores, and not in eBay auctions, nothing will display in the search results window on my page ... to see them, you have to click on the search button and go directly to eBay.

Costumes from Star Wars Clone Wars

This August, a new animated Star Wars movie is coming out that will be the starting point for a cartoon series on TV. Several Halloween costumes will be available this year based on this movie/cartoon ... Star Wars : The Clone Wars. For example, there will be costumes for new characters such as Clone Commander Cody, Clone Captain Rex, Jedi Master Plo Koon and Padawan Ahsoka. There will also be a Clone Trooper Costume ... and cartoony versions of Anakin and Kenobi.

More Star Wars Costumes, including Slave Leia

A few more Star Wars pages are up. First of all I present, in honor of Indiana Jones, the classic Han Solo costume. And then ... a couple of examples of how important it can be to tweak your search terms. For example, searching for "Slave Leia" brings you a costume that's quite different than the normal "Princess Leia". Also, "Padme Amidala" is not the same as "Queen Amidala".

Ewok Costumes

Here's another Star Wars costume that, while rare, is worth keeping an eye out for, just for the uniqueness and cuteness of it. It's the Ewok, from Revenge of the Jedi, and every once in a while (including the moment I post this) there is one for sale on eBay. Check out our Ewok page to see what's there now.

Wonder Pets are Coming

The newest TV-based costumes for preschoolers this year are based on the Nick Jr cartoon "Wonder Pets". This show features three classroom pets ... Linny the Guinea Pig ... Ming Ming Duckling ... and Turtle Tuck ... who rescue other animals in each show. Costumes for all three will be available later in 2008.

Indiana Jones and the Chest of Muscle

I've already posted a link to the general search result page for Indiana Jones, but I've just gotten a glimpse of some of the new costumes that are due to come out, and I've added a couple of pages to help you find them. The first one is for Indy, and comes with a Muscled Chest that would be a lot of fun for kids who want the "powerful" look. The other one is for the character named Mutt that is played by Shia LaBeouf in the new movie. These are not available yet, but keep watching, as they will be soon.

Speed Racer Costumes

Starting to see some of first signs of the new costumes for this year. Several, not surprisingly, are based on the Speed Racer Movie, and it's main characters ... Speed ... Trixie ... and Racer X ... using our search pages right now might only give you results related to the animated version, but as the year goes on, you'll see more and more from the movie version.

Fun Clowns for Kids and the Winx Club

I just made changes/additions to pages for three recently popular kids TV shows ... JoJo's Circus has been on Playhouse Disney for a few years and costumes are still available for main characters JoJo the Clown and Goliath the Lion ... The Big Comfy Couch is a PBS show seen off and on for about ten years and inspired costumes based on Loonette the Clown ... and Winx Club is a cartoon that has spawned costumes for it's teenage fairy princess characters.

Four different searches for Lion costumes

Here are four different ways to find Lion costumes ... first, of course is the all-encompassing Lion search, that will, hopefully, bring a lot of choices ... second is a search for Cowardly Lion, which will bring you costumes for the character from the Wizard of Oz ... next is "Lion King" with costumes based on the Disney movie ... and finally, and this is an obscure one, try "Between the Lions" for the characters from the PBS educational TV show.

Tarzan and the Jungle Girl

Tarzan is a great, classic, minimalist costume ... and if you'd like to be his female counterpart, you should also try the results page for "Jungle Girl".

Battlestar Galactica and more

Ben 10 and Eon Kid

Here are a couple of new costume ideas for cartoons aimed at older kids. The first is Ben 10, and it can be a pretty easy costume, requiring only the right T-Shirt. The second is Eon Kid, which seems to be showing up for the first time in 2008.

TV Show Costumes for Pre-schoolers

There are many costumes every year based on TV shows for Preschool kids. A couple of recent ones for which costumes can easily be found are the Backyardigans and the Doodlebops. Others, like the Teletubbies have been popular for many years and are still available.

Mulan and Mushu

Chinese Princess, and Disney Icon, Mulan has been a favorite of mine here for years. This year, we're adding a search results page for her dragon friend Mushu and for Dragons in general.

Kung Fu Panda costume

Another movie that I'm looking forward to this summer is Kung Fu Panda. Will there be Kung Fu Panda costumes? I don't know, but I can tell you this ... Panda costume plus Kung Fu costume equals a home made Kung Fu Panda.

Other 2008 Movie costumes

Wall*E is the newest Disney/Pixar movie, and merchandising for it should be in full swing well before Halloween, so expect to see lots of Wall*E costumes ... costumes inspired by The Love Guru should be fun and easy ... I'm not expecting a big run on Zohan costumes (if there even are Zohan costumes), but I didn't see the Napoleon Dynamite craze coming either.

Prince Caspian and the land of Narnia

There are not any out yet, but I expect to see a lot of licensed costumes related to the Prince Caspian movie this year. If you are looking and can't find any thing Caspian-specific ... try looking for Narnia Costumes.

Gator, Gator, Gator

There's no secret that one of the main focuses of CartoonCostumes.com is to provide handy pre-made eBay searches to help make looking for Costumes a little easier. Sometimes a simple change in search terms gives a very different result. For example, if you want an Alligator Costume, don't use the word "Gator". If you do, what you'll get instead is costumes related to the University of Florida Gators. Not that that's a bad thing ... maybe you want to dress up as a football player, a crazy fan or a cheerleader (in which case you'll want to also try the "Gator Cheerleader" search.

You CAN pick your friend's nose ...

... if you get some of the "Pick Your Nose" Cups for your Halloween party this year. Whenever anyone drinks out of these cups, it will make them look like they have a different nose. Good for a LOT of laughs. I bought some from Perpetual Kid, but they are available in other places too. Check out My Party Favorites for help or more party ideas.

Iron Man and Indiana Jones

Last night, I went to see the new Iron Man movie, and I'm quite sure that there will be a big demand for Iron Man Costumes this year, so in addition to a general costume page I've set up a page with a refined search for Iron Man Helmets. It will be interesting too see which summer movie proves to generate the greatest costume interest this year. My early prediction is for it to be either Iron Man or Indiana Jones.
