Top 5 Pooh Costumes

5) Piglet - you've got to be a special person to handle wearing a Piglet costume ... but if you've got what it takes, go for it.

4) Tigger - Tigger, on the other hand works for everyone, because you can be calm or bouncy or even spend the night sulking.

3) Winnie the Pooh - whether the classic costume or one incorporating a honeypot, this is instantly recognizable and universally loved. But I still don't like ir as much as either of the next two.

2) Eeyore - the world's favorite pessimist. But, if you're going to show up at my door in this, please practice the voice and say something like "I don't suppose you'd like to give me any candy."

1) Roo - the little kangaroo is number #1 on pure cuteness, and the fact that you just don't see it much.

Top 5 Harry Potter "other" Costumes

For the Potter fan who wants something other than a Harry Costume ...

5) Hedwig - Harry's Owl ... pretty much just a little kid costume, maybe for your little brother while you dress as Harry

4) Death Eater - generic servants of Voldemort, if you you're going to go this route why not go with ...

3) Bellatrix - the Death Eater who plays a big part in the last few books

2) Mad-Eye Moody - this Auror is who you'll want to be if you want to be on Harry's side. Powerful, funny-looking and goofy acting ... he has it all.

1) Dobby - but this house elf tops them all for a costume idea. Get the mask, carry around a sock, and repeatedly hit yourself in the head whenever you say the wrong thing. It's magic.

Banana Splits Costumes

You don't see very many of these, but right now on eBay, there is an old costume for one of the characters from the kids TV show called "The Banana Splits". The character there is Bingo the Gorilla and the costume is one of the old plastic-mask styles by Ben Cooper. This should really bring back memories.

Top 5 Classic Disney Costumes

5) Minnie Mouse - We can't have this list without Minnie, a favorite of many girls.

4) Mickey Mouse - the definitive Disney costume. Available through the years in enough sizes and styles to make your ears spin.

3) Daisy Duck - seemed to be the forgotten character for awhile, but is now geting the respect she deserves.

2) Donald Duck - Great costume, great character, you have an excuse to spout a little attitude, and if you can do his voice, it's my number 1 pick, if not than go with ...

1) Goofy - anyone can say "Gawrsh"

Little Einsteins Rocket Costume

This is a cute new costume from Disney. Based on the cartoon "Little Einsteins", it is a red rocket that your child can wear around the waist. The rocket includes images of the shows characters. Click here to see it and other Little Einsteins costumes.

Wall E Costumes

Speaking of Disney, the Wall E costumes are starting to appear. They look like they will be fun for the right kids. One of the things that's nice is that the binocular style eyes work quite nicely as a hat, and that makes this costume look better as an "open face" design than many character costumes do.
